Due to the concerns surrounding COVID-19, the City of Ashland has decided to close all municipal buildings to the public, (Police Administrative Office, Bretting Center, Vaughn Library, Fire Department, Public Works, and City Hall ) effective Thursday, March 19, 2020 until further notice. PAYMENTS: Any payments can be sent by mail, placing into the Drop Box on Main Street West in front of City Hall, or by using electronic payment through our website. We are temporarily waiving the service fee if using e-payments. We are unable to process charged payments by phone. VOTING: While City Hall is closed to the public, we strongly encourage residents to vote by absentee ballot. If you need to in-person absentee vote, the Clerk's office will be staffed during regular business hours: 8AM to 4PM M-F. Please park near the front door of City Hall and use the doorbell located near the door. Staff will then come out and assist you with this process. You can also call 715-682-7071 to let us know you need assistance. As it stands today, the polls will be open on Election Day (April 7, 2020) in the City of Ashland for those who need them. However, it is our recommendation that if possible, residents request an absentee ballot be sent to them via mail. Requests for absentee ballots and voter registration can be done by visiting www.myvote.wi.gov to submit an online request or by visiting the City of Ashland website at www.coawi.org to complete a fillable form and mail it to City Hall at 601 Main Street West. Acting by end of day Wednesday, March 18, 2020 is especially important for anyone who also needs to register to vote by mail. After that date, you must register to vote on Election Day. If your name or address has changed since you last voted, you need to register with your current information. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we do our part to help limit the exposure to our community. Sincerely,David WegenerFire Chief and Public Information OfficerCity of Ashland
