Why is the sky blue? Why can’t we float away? How do fish breathe? Why do some things go BOOM!? Join us for a week at Science Camp where we can try to find some answers for things like these! Together we will explore solutions for challenging questions, create exciting experiments, and learn about the scientific world. Have you ever seen a volcano…in Ashland!? It’s about time we built one then! Science Camp is going to be a time where we will learn, have fun, and bring out the scientist in all of us!
June 19-22: Lego Camp (1/2 Day Afterschool Program)
Ever wondered what it's like to build a skyscraper? Look no further than Lego Camp! Join us for a week of creation, engineering, and science as we learn skills to become master builders. Campers will work in a team to create a LEGO creation based on the day's theme. It could be anything; city structures, animals, or to create something from their imagination!
June 26-29: Lego Camp 2.0 (1/2 Day Afterschool Program)
All of week one's goodness, a second time! Lego Camp 2.0 will allow campers to further their engineering skills during a week of hands-on builds! Students will continue to explore, design, and create fun projects based on STEM Principals.
July 10-13: Animal Camp
Do you want to learn about the animals that live here in our local area? Do you want a chance to meet farm animals? Then Animal Camp is perfect for you. During the week we will spend time in Prentice Park learning about the animals and bugs that inhabit the Chequamegon Bay, do art projects and play games inspired by those animals and insects, and even go exploring to find them. In addition, we will travel to multiple farms in the local area and meet farmers who get to work with animals every day (and meet their animals, of course). Animal camp is all about our furry, scaly, and feathered friends, and if you want to learn about them and go see some in person, sign up for Animal Camp!
July 17-20: Outdoor Adventure Camp
Who’s ready for an adventure? Outdoor Adventure Camp is all about exploring beautiful places and getting to try exciting activities. During adventure camp we will go on a different journey every day, exploring the most beautiful parts of the Chequamegon Bay! During adventure camp you will get the chance to ride bikes, paddle a canoe on the lake, go rock climbing, and hike in our wonderful northern forests. If you are up for a big adventure, sign up for outdoor adventure camp.
July 24-27: Water Fun Camp
When the weather gets hot, let's cool off and jump in the big lake! Beat the heat of summer with fun water games, and time spent swimming in Lake Superior! Throughout water week we will play water-based games at the park, spend time at the beach, splash in the lake, and learn about the water in the lake and the artesian wells. Be sure to bring a towel because everyone will get wet!
July 31-August 3: Theater Camp
Lights! Camera! Action! Fun! Join us for a fun spin on summer camp. Enjoy an amazing Creative and Performing Arts experience that will include dancing, painting, acting, crafts, set design, and so much more! Campers will also learn the basic techniques of acting for theater. Theatre fundamentals are emphasized with first-hand tricks to memorizing lines, character development, costuming, set design and so much more! The curtain is going up…for a summer filled with the excitement and magic of theater!
August 14-17: Outdoor Adventure 2.0 Camp
Are you feeling adventurous? Outdoor adventure camp 2.0 is going to be a thrill whether you went on our first outdoor adventure camp or not. We will be seeing some of the best sights in the local area and trying extremely fun outdoor activities. During Outdoor Adventure camp 2.0 each day will be different! You will get the chance to see waterfalls, canoe on the lake, go rock climbing, and explore Ashland's parks and lakeshore. Sign up for outdoor adventure camp 2.0 and don’t miss out on a week of fantastic adventures.
August 21-24: Water Fun 2.0 Camp
WATER, Again! Who doesn’t want to spend a week at the beach? Water Camp 2.0 will have just as much time for splashing around in Lake Superior as the first water camp. During water week 2.0 we will start at the park every day, but we will go down to the lake every day, to swim, play water-based games, and soak up the sun on the shore. Don’t forget a towel, and don’t miss out, because water week 2.0 will be a blast!
