The Ashland Water Utility has published the 2023 Consumer Confidence Report. Additionally, the Water Utility has provided information regarding elevated levels of lead at some homes and buildings.
The Consumer Confidence Report can be found here. The Consumer Confidence Report contains information from testing of the water system for various contaminants and shows other violations in the system.
As a requirement from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the Ashland Water Utility is required to notify customers when lead levels exceed 15ppb (parts per billion) at any of the city's 41 testing sites, of which, five of our testing sites tested above limits in February. All customers were sent a letter with notification of the lead level exceedance. More information regarding lead in drinking water, along with options for residents to have their water tested can be found in this brochure, at the cost of the customer. If you have a lead lateral leading to your home, you may be eligible to become a testing site in the city and have your water tested for free. Call 715-682-7061 for more information and to see if your home qualifies.
